  • As an instructor, you’ll have the chance to influence the next generation of dog groomers, sharing your knowledge and passion to help them build successful careers. These students will have a strong foundation of safety, sanitation, and the technical knowledge to thrive. Our mission is to elevate the grooming industry through professionalism and standardized education.
  • All Groom Curriculum instructors have the opportunity to become AKC Master Groomers and receive ongoing professional development opportunities, helping them stay on the cutting edge of grooming techniques and educational practices.
  • Some colleges offer flexible teaching schedules, including part-time and full-time positions.
  • What We’re Looking For: Candidates should have at least three years of professional experience in the dog grooming industry. Essential qualifications include the ability to pass the AKC – CT certification as a prerequisite for consideration. Additionally, candidates are encouraged to work towards obtaining a Master Groomer certification recognized by reputable organizations such as the National Dog Grooming Association of America (NDGAA), International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC), or American Kennel Club (AKC). This commitment to continuous professional development ensures our instructors maintain the highest standards of expertise in the field, enriching the quality of our dog grooming training programs.
  • The ideal Groom Curriculum Instructor is patient, an excellent communicator, and eager to help students succeed. A commitment to maintaining high standards in both grooming and safety is essential.
  • You will use the curriculum to guide students through the full range of grooming techniques, from safe handling and basic bathing and drying to advanced styling, breed-specific grooming, and skin and coat care. You will be responsible for tracking the student’s progress through the curriculum, including hands-on hours, grooming checklists, and workbook assessments.
  • Instructors also model important durable skills, such as professionalism in customer service, time management, and a positive mindset, to prepare students for success as professional pet groomers.
  • As an instructor with Groom Curriculum, your role can vary depending on the needs of our college or partner organizations. This means your position could be full-time, part-time, or adjunct, with or without benefits, depending on the specific arrangement with each institution. Compensation structures are tailored to the partner college and will be discussed further during the hiring process.
